Abstract

This study focuses on the design of a telemetry system for remotely monitoring the voltage and health of batteries in an Energy UPS system. The system utilizes PZEM-017 sensors as electrical parameter measurement devices, specifically for battery voltage monitoring, with a total of ten sensor units operating as slaves. All sensors are connected to an ESP32 microcontroller, which functions as the master and main system controller. Data communication between the PZEM-017 sensors and the ESP32 is carried out using the Modbus RTU protocol to  adapt the communication signals for processing by the microcontroller. The sensor data are then transmitted to Firebase as a cloud-based database for real-time data storage and management. The stored information is subsequently displayed on an Android application developed using MIT App Inventor. The results indicate that the proposed system is capable of providing effective, real-time, and integrated monitoring of battery voltage and health, thereby supporting more efficient and reliable UPS battery management and maintenance.
